North Guilford School Undergoing Major Revitalization:
Seeks FT Director
North Guilford Nursery School announces the search for a full time director. Located in scenic North Guilford, NGNS is undergoing a major revitalization of this early childhood education institution that has served the Connecticut shoreline communities since 1955.
Board President, Tom Gannon describes the revitalization efforts as “an opportunity to reflect on the successes of our past and plan for a new future, as we approach our 75th anniversary. The community can expect to see improvements to our already strong half-day program and an expansion of our enrichment and summer camp offerings.” To that end, NGNS seeks an experienced and entrepreneurial early childhood education leader, who can steward these changes.
Board member and former NGNS teacher, Mary Gannon assures the community that “NGNS has not abandoned its core mission of providing a half-day play based preschool program to 2s, 3s, and 4s. However, the time is right for expanding our program offerings, so that we can better meet the expectations of today’s families." Current part-time director, Ted Schultz, will remain at the helm until the full-time position is filled.
“The Directorship is a unique opportunity for a creative early childhood leader who wants to be on the ground floor of building something new upon an already iconic institution in the greater Guilford community,” states Educational Consultant, Dr. Donna Risolo of The Athena Group, who was hired by NGNS to guide the revitalization efforts.
